  • The sesame seeds and peanuts can either be dry-roasted separately in a small frying pan (skillet) for about 2 minutes, or until they change colour, or they can be fried.
  • If frying, heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Add the sesame seeds.
  • Stir-fry for about 1 minute, or until they change colour.
  • Then, remove from the pan.
  • Add the peanuts to the pan.
  • Stir-fry for about 1-2 minutes, or until they turn golden.
  • Transfer them to a blender.
  • Add the sesame seeds and the remaining ingredients.
  • Then season with salt and process until ground.
  • Grind all the ingredients together.
  • One can add or lessen any ingredients according to taste.
  • This chutney should be consumed on the day it is made.
