Til ki Chutney

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons Sesame seeds
- 3 tablespoons Peanuts
- 1-2 tablespoons Vegetable oil optional
- 6-8 Green chilies de-seeded (optional) and roughly chopped
- 1 tablespoon Garlic ground
- 2 Onions sliced
- 20 g Coriander (Cilantro) leaves (1/2 cup)
- 125 ml Tamarind extract (1/2 cup)
- Salt
Instructions
- The sesame seeds and peanuts can either be dry-roasted separately in a small frying pan (skillet) for about 2 minutes, or until they change colour, or they can be fried.
- If frying, heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Add the sesame seeds.
- Stir-fry for about 1 minute, or until they change colour.
- Then, remove from the pan.
- Add the peanuts to the pan.
- Stir-fry for about 1-2 minutes, or until they turn golden.
- Transfer them to a blender.
- Add the sesame seeds and the remaining ingredients.
- Then season with salt and process until ground.
- Grind all the ingredients together.
- One can add or lessen any ingredients according to taste.
- This chutney should be consumed on the day it is made.
