- Heavy-based Pan
Ingredients
- 500 ml Tamarind (2¼ cups), Extract
- 2 teaspoons Ginger Ground
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds Roasted
- 6 Garlic Cloves of, crushed
- 3 tablespoons Brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Ginger sliced
- 1 tablespoon Raisins
- Salt
Instructions
- Put the tamarind extract into a large bowl.
- Add the remaining ingredients, except the raisin.
- Season with salt, then transfer the mixture to a large, heavy-based pan.
- Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
- Add the raisins.
- Stir for about 5 minutes.
- Allow to cool and serve.
- This chutney should be eaten immediately.
